HI all, I have a nice riverfront rental property, and due to the stupid laws passed in this state (namely the just cause eviction ordinance) we decided to go the airbnb route until we retire and move into the property. The road is a private easement for the property owners (gravel road). The neighbor is the elected road maintenance guy and he is a bipolar obsessive complusive type. He has caused me all sorts of problems, and the Sheriff has gotten him to stop harassing my guests. Problem is he has erected very large speed bumps and my guests drag their chassis over the bumps. These bumps only effect my property and my neighbor whom he also harasses because he says he drives to fast on the road. The sheriff says to sue him when I damage my car (or others are damaged) I have decided to hire a contractor and trim the bumps and sue him in small claims court. I have advised him of such, and he denies building the bumps, which is easily proven he did. Any further ideas before I proceed? --70.158.xxx.xx

Hire a Lawyer to write a letter outlining the neighbors actions and letting him know that his conduct is causing a disturbance in your business, which is actionable. Unless he stops, he will be sued and you will put in a claim with his insurance carrier... --47.155.xx.xxx
