HI All. Need advice for a friend who has an elderly aunt. The elderly person's deceased husband had given refugee to a friend to live in their house basement. The husband died, his widow who owes the house, is in her 80's. This invited friend has worn out his welcome and taken over the property. Do you know what the best way to get him removed? Invite another person in to live there also, perhaps as a caretaker or something like that. Preferably a large,mean obnoxious type. During the inevitable arguments that are bound to occur, things happen. Then the unwanted person leaves, usually quickly.

Otherwise the deadbeat will, with the courts help, stay as long as possible.

The deadbeat living in the basement only has the basement as their area, the caretaker has the rest of the place. --97.95.x.xxx

You don't want to make this a LL / tenant problem. Instead make it a case of elder abuse since she is a senior citizen.

Check with both the local council on aging, local DA office & the police about getting a restraining order against him.
