I was using a tool in the garage, plugged to a GFI, which I have done many times. The tool suddenly stopped working and I went to GFI and the buttons didn't work -- wouldn't reset.
I assumed it was a bad GFI and I would have to replace it. But I used the voltage tester and there is no power coming to the GFI anymore at all, so it was not the GFI itself.
There are no tripped breakers in the box and all the other GFIs in the house are working fine.
Any idea what this is? Is it something I can fix myself? Thanks.

Did you measure the voltage against the wires or just stick into the prongs? Did you measure the voltage against the breaker.. Sometimes even the breaker didn't trip, it goes off.. Reset and see if you don't want to open the boxes to measure. --100.40.xxx.xx |
