State Specific Question About: GEORGIA (GA)

I’ve heard a lot of people say white vinegar, although I’ve never tested it myself. --24.147.xx.xxx |

Why state specific?
Does Georgia get an unusual amount of scum?
In Ma we have our share of scumbags.
I use the after shower spray and it really cuts the build up. --99.203.xx.xx |

I used a brand called Kazoom that was expensive but very good. Spray it on, and then rinse it off without scrubbing.

Kazoom or Kaboom (I forget what it's called). I've also used comet with bleach - here it's like $1.00 at Lowes for a can.
wet the doors, sprinkle it on and make a paste. Wait a few minutes (like go wipe a fridge or make a phone call) come back and use a sponge with the scrubber on it - rinse and scrub. If it's really bad you may have to do it a few times.
I haven't tried it on the doors but the tub and the surround it works wonders. --69.201.xx.xxx |

I use Scrubbing Bubbles shower spray and then wipe it off with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Very little scrubbing involved that way. --72.205.xxx.xx |

1 part blue Dawn mixed with 2 parts vinegar. Fill a spray bottle part full with the mix. Shake often while spraying. You can let the spray sit for several hours to soften heavy buildups

Bill,
Do you have hard water?
My area has very hard water so the film on our shower doors is really lime/calcium build up which also holds the soap scum.
We need vinegar or Lime Away to remove the calcium. The soap scum leaves with it.

My Cleaning Lady (Bless her!) Uses the Blue Dawn and Vinegar mix. We have very hard water, even with a water softener.
If it is really bad, she uses a razor scraper then the vinegar and Dawn mix.
Well worth what I pay her. --64.251.xxx.xxx |

As I wrote above, I use rubbing alcohol, but have also used scrubbing bubbles.Another tip is that I use old bath towels to do the wipe down after the cleaner has dissolved the scum. Keep using fresh towels or else you are just spreading the scum around. A good wash cycle in hot water in the washing machine will clean the towels right up for reuse. --73.141.xxx.xx |
