Check your laws. Even though many Indiana laws state "Certified Mail" MY court does not demand actual CERTIFIED mail as long as it has tracking to prove the item was delivered. That's better than certified.
So...
For years we have been using USPS Click And Ship to print labels in the office and set them out for the mail man, no trip downtown required. $7.35 each.
Just found a cheaper alternative. Shipping Easy.com
Free service for under 50 pieces per year.
Print the label and pay online just $2.50. Has a tracking number on the label and is viewable online. Pick up at my mailbox. No trip downtown.
We're now using this for all Deposit Settlement letters, Court Summons, IRS payments, etc. Saving $5 on each.
PirateShip is another service.
