which double hung window do you use from WW?

I see they are advertising a 3000 series window for 259 but on the website they only have 2000 n 4000 series. I also wondering what your experience is with their turn around time. I have a long term tenant leaving and will be doing a unit over in august. The WW is the one in Albany.

OR other installer recommendations. I'm trying to save time, but can do them myself. Just swapping out old junk vinyl for new vinyl.

I’m thinking they had a bit longer turn around time in my area. If you know how to change windows, and don’t have to deal with something like second or third story when you are afraid of heights, then me, I might go with the Anderson windows from Home Depot on an unoccupied house. I’ve changed out one house myself, others had WW or another company. Nice thing with DIY, you can do a few each turn over, if you want. OTOH, WW can do the aluminum wrap on the trim, which I don’t have the benders to do.

On the house I did myself, the sills were very rotted out, needed replacing. That would have added quite a bit to the cost, if WW , or another company did that work. One of my kids needs new windows for her own house, not in a high end area, and she is very busy. She was wanting to do the windows herself, but I am doing my best to get her to just have WW do the job. Too much free time taken away from their family time, when they both work full-time already. --172.58.xxx.xx

WW franchises vary greatly. Last time I used them I got the cheapest windows they sold, I don't remember the model. Here, they nickel and dime you to death with added fees and charges so be sure to look at the total cost not just their quoted price for an installed window. The last two houses I've had replaced, I got quotes from some local window and siding installers and WW was higher on both so I didn't use them. --50.26.xx.xxx

Its been a few years since we used them but I remember they were a bunch of clowns. Screwed up the sizes, had extras, missing some, installers made a mess. They were the cheapest but not the best. --71.112.xxx.xxx

Got a quote for 4 windows. It was a little high, but I wanted to save time. So I called the sales guy back the next day and said I would take the deal. He couldn’t fit me in his schedule for two days to sign the paperwork and said he would have the office call me to schedule a signing. He also said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to complete the job. I still said ok. But they never called back and he never called back. I guess I’ll just do it myself. --174.201.x.xxx

Taters,

I LOVE WW! Used them MANY times. Signing a $22,000 order in the morning for siding, windows, and doors on a multi.

BUT...Every franchise is locally owned and operated so service varies from town to town.

THEY take care of the lead based paint RRP problems.

THEY haul the old stuff away.

THEY will wrap the lead covered window trim.

THEY did 21 windows on a 2 story house in one day.

The windows have a lifetime warranty. If a resident breaks a glass or a BB punches a hole WW replaces ti for free.

When selling I brag on the warranty to the buying prospects.

I just had to replace a non-WW double pane glass for $225 - the price of a brand new WW window installed. (trying to match)

think about single hung as everyone uses an AC instead of using convection cooling with top and bottom open
