I bought some expensive items during a sale and I'm supposed to get a $200 rebate. I submitted it and now they're telling me it's going to be a month before I get my emailed rebate? It needs to go through weeks of "processing".

Obviously they play games to get some customers to give up trying...has anyone here successfully received one of these rebates, for the correct dollar amount they were promised?

Yes, I have received all the rebates from Lowe's that I have applied for. Actually, 4 weeks for a rebate is a quick turnaround. Most other rebates that I put in for take 6 - 8 weeks.

I always scan a copy of everything I submit or keep the reference numbers for the ones I fill out online. I have not had a problem with Lowe's rebates. The few times that I did run into issues with others, they are accommodating to fix it. --108.4.xxx.xx

Thanks Linda. In the past I've never really done rebates so I wasn't aware it took this long. --72.188.xxx.xxx

I've always received the rebate for the correct amount. 6 - 8 weeks is the norm like Linda said. The last one came via email and was a coupon to print. Make sure your spam filter will let it through if you have one set up. --68.102.xxx.xx

Yep, standard part of the rebate game. They are hoping for one of two events:

1) You forget to send the rebate in. Bonus for them!

2) You remember to send it in, but they'll have the use of that extra money for 6-8 weeks. Back in the old days banks would consider themselves savvy for getting a 7-14 day "float" off cashing checks. These businesses have done that 10x!

Same deal with gift cards: businesses love those because they win no matter what. They got the money the minute someone buys the card. They win even more when you lose them, forget to spend them, or use them to buy more than the value of the card. My employer (Fortune 500 retailer) says that our typical per ticket sale is 17% higher for gift cards vs. other methods of payment. And over $2 million in gift cards went unclaimed in 2018. They don't expire, but that's a decent chunk of change to have sitting around, and no doubt some of that will never get spent. --107.216.xxx.xxx

Yes. Very easy to submit online, just be sure and check your email for them to arrive. Then remember to print or write down the numbers and use them. They come in the form of a Lowes gift card. If you submit by mail, you will get a physical gift card. --69.160.xxx.xxx

I read the terms of the rebate policy. Most retail stores make up a story that the "Rebates" are from a 3rd party and they have little to no control over the payment.

I did a little investigation and found over half of the retailers that offer promotion with rebates often own the rebate company and the process is designed to make people file after the offer has expired or they don't complete the forms as requested then it's rejected.

Around 50% of the consumers don't file for the rebate so the retailer makes extra profits.

I had to sue three major retailers. One of them lied to the judge that they had no control over the rebate process. I had an x-manager explain to the judge that they play the rebate game to pull in the masses and keep the profit. I won 2 of the 3 cases but only collected on one, the second file an appeal and I didn't want to spend $1000 on an attorney to collect $100. --47.156.xx.xx

I use the menards 11 percent sale often, keep those rebates in a soup sized coffee cup in the cupboard so every morning I see it and take it when shopping for stuff. --76.188.xxx.xx

I bought a stove, refrigerator, and a dishwasher during Lowe's 4th of July sale. I not only save the 5%, they also gave me a rebate slip. I got online that evening and found out that two of the appliances qualified for $50.00 each. I received the rebate online about two days ago. The turn around was quicker than anywhere else I have experienced. Now I have to figure out what to use the $100.00 for. I am thinking a power washer. --162.192.xxx.xx
