I have had three incidents and all three had tenants in them. Rick, I recommend that you call a service so that you have a guarantee they are gone. They are a pain in the neck. You can Google all kinds of ideas if you want. Here is an idea I stumbled on. There are some large units a few miles from my units and I found out they use a regular service that comes in weekly to spray hallways and commons areas. I called the company and they stopped by for about 50% of the going rate because they were already close by and it was easy money. In two cases, the tenant admitted it was their issue and paid. Good Luck! --12.53.xx.xxx |

Call around and get estimates on the phone from Bed Bug companies. Since your rental is "empty", you can find a local company that will give you a better price because they are close and there is "No furniture", "no pets" and "no tenants".
I found a company that would charge half price and guaranteed results and planed on returning in 2 weeks to re-treat the problem areas. --47.156.xx.xx |

Problem is with no one there the bugs will hide in walls. Tougher to eliminate.
I always hired pros to spray and dust. --107.5.xxx.xx |

I have only had one case. A SFH, 1000 sq ft.
They used the heat treatment. But tenant talked them down from 2900.00 to 1800.00.
I had called and set the appointment. Maybe once they found out the tenant was paying that had something to do with it.
But my point is. Do check around and find one willing to discount. Like the others above said.
Seems to be a high markup service.
By the way, even with the heat treatment they had to come back a second time. --73.152.xx.xxx |

Also to add. The original price was 2900.00 for heat or 1900.00 for chemical treatment. --73.152.xx.xxx |

If the room is heated to a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius which is approximately double the normal room temperature then the bed bugs will not survive. You can always check out videos on You Tube to see which self treatment is better. --147.194.xxx.xx |

I have had too many to remember, do my pest control something online, used to be 45 bux of stuff now is 85bux, tenant has to dry everything and place into large bins or trash bags while the newborn eggs get killed off and they need mattress wrappers 40bux at walmart. Eggs are clear but they get planted where you see poop stains, an upholstery steamer works like portable heating method to kill the eggs, they dont like walls the same as roaches, they like furniture where someone sleeps. --76.188.xxx.xx |
