We are refinishing the dog urine wrecked floors left by the evicted Sheriff. The floors were sanded and trated with an animal urine neutralizer and the spots faded. I have oxalic acid for urine stains but did not use it. Yesterday we began to stain with a red oak stain and some areas are now dark corresponding to where we thought we had removed the urine. At least we have only 3 areas to worry about where he evidently parked an unfloored kennel, and the rest are staying clear.
Suggestions? --107.77.xxx.xx |

I had a nice floor under carpet and when the floor guy finished there was a dark pool of stain. He said it was blood and would never come out. I have always wondered what happened in that room. --24.194.xx.xx |

My vote is with Ned, dark stain. I've had dark stain on hardwood, on two of my student rentals for years and I haven't done a thing and they look awesome. I mean, there's a few gouges were people dragged metal bed frames, etc, but the rest of it looks great. I think if I got down on the floor, I'd see a ton of scratches, but at least from my usual perspective, the dark stain looks great. --98.109.x.xxx |

a stupid trick I use is to buy a cheap large area rug (under $100) and place it over the stained area. --144.250.xx.xx |
