Ok, who's up for this? Irish Island seeking Amerucans to move there. We're packin. It's 56 degrees vs 109 today. That's enough for me! :D
If you google the name and real estate for sale there's a fixer upper across from the beach on 2 ac for only 50k pounds. My cousin about 8 times removed is a former Prime Minister, so I guess they'd let us in?

I don't know about Ireland, Ireland, but you sure don't want to be a landlord in the UK which would include Northern Ireland.
I'm a big fan of living in Scotland, but there is no way I'd own rental property there.
If you move to Ireland, Live The Dream, buy a big house and we will all come and visit. --98.146.xxx.xxx |

My 4th single family home I purchased back in 1979 was from a family that was moving back to Ireland. That home had fallen out of escrow so they lowered the price by $10,000 (12%) for a quick sale, had to close by their departure date. They had purchased non-refundable tickets and had movers scheduled.
Their realtor used their termite company who gave me a clean bill health. I also purchased a 90 day warranty on the termite service to cover all repairs. During the inspection we weren't allowed to go inside the garage where their boxes were stored for the moving.
So the day after escrow closed I got up on a ladder and found the main garage roof beam, 6" x 12" x 25', had serious termite infestation. So I got the termite company, who was bonded, to replace the bean. It dost them something like 10 grand, the discounted amount of the purchase. --47.156.xx.xx |

Well I don't know about actually moving there, but it does look beautiful, in an austere, wind blown sort of way. I haven't been to europe in 30 years. Now I want to go. They have a BnB in a lighthouse on the island for 90£ a night.

Socialized medicine? No thanks. Medicare is bad enough. Solar minimum means snow and blizzards over there. Boston weather is close to that so you could move there. Minimal sunlight on good days. --173.61.xxx.xx |

Went 2 summers ago and spent a night or 2 on the littlest island Innis Oirr. We rented bikes to explore the island the first day and I ran the second day. Ran around the whole island along the water, through cow paths, around ruins and a stop at the holy well for a spiritual moment. One of my favorite runs ever! A small island that fills with tourists for the day and empties to just a handful of people at night to fill the 2 bars for food, music and drinks. Just realized Charlie hasn’t been posting. Hope he is OK! --24.61.xxx.xx |

Ireland is beautiful. The people are warm and inviting. Very liberal in their politics. It is virtually impossible to become an Irish citizen unless a parent or grandparent were born there. Typical liberal hypocrisy in action. --98.13.xx.xxx |

Well, if you decide to move, study up on stuff like money. Ireland uses the euro, not UK pounds. --68.156.xx.xx |
