Has anyone tried this? It works with Android and it's supposed to be able to detect pipes, studs and wiring behind the wall. You get an image as you slide the phone across the wall.

Go read the Amazon reviews. Basically, it is pretty complex and annoying to get "calibrated" and you need to do it for each wall. And, even then, it seems to miss things often.

I wanted to get one a while ago. I have real thermal imaging devices, wall scanners and other tools to locate pipes, studs and wires behind surfaces. I found Walabot difficult to use. The calibration for each type of material detected and update not so user friendly. My phone was listed as acceptable, it was not! Unless you have phone savvy and have an newer model, I would shy away from this product. --47.156.xx.xx |

Someone I met at the convention has it, likes it and showed me images he saved that showed gas pipe couplings so you would know where to cut so you could unscrew and use pipe sealer. I am about to get one myself - android only. --76.188.xxx.xx |

I have one and have found it useful especially when someone else has done some rehabbing on a house before I've bought it. People will put electric and water lines in strange places in a wall. --71.213.xx.xxx |
