Poor chis. They took 200 dogs out of a house in a nearby county this week. The hoarder was a well known dog breeder who had won at Westminster. They needed various treatments and were overcrowded rather than starved and dirty. I think they bred Parson Russels --173.61.xxx.xx |

It never hurts to go by and check on your rentals occasionally.
Of course, there is no limit to the number of emotional support animals a tenant can have and that tenant obviously had a mental health disability, so was well qualified to have an emotional support animal or two, or thirty. --98.146.xxx.xxx |

I had a tenant who over 7 years morphed into a cat hoarder. My hubby told me he was just going to keep taking her rents because the place was already destroyed. She moved without notice two weeks after my hubby died. The cleanup was a nightmare. Two 20 foot dumpsters, handymen had to have respirators, she was using the bathroom sink as a toilet. I got back 7 trashed units that month and was served notice of an IRS audit by certified mail. She got the prize for costliest move out. --216.23.xxx.xx |

I once reported a neighbor who I thought ran a puppy mill.
The part time animal control officer went by and assured me that was not the case. A year later the neighbor died. When the relatives came to cart off the valuable stuff, I stopped to chat them up. The odor coming out of the house was so strong that standing 15 feet away down hill I was still covered in stench when I got home. Turns out he was a hoarder and had a puppy mill one one floor and birds on the next and cleaned nothing up. I wound up boarding it up myself because vandals were becoming a nuisance. On a good day 2 years later you can still smell it from the sidewalk.
