Difficult PackOut (by Ray-N-Pa [PA]) Posted on: Jun 9, 2019 5:37 PM
Message:

We have all had to haul out other peoples crap that they left behind. That is never a n easy task. I have had about eight instances where I have even lost a tenant and had to deal with the next of kin to get rid of the stuff left behind for the deceased .

Well.....I experienced a very difficult pack out Friday morning.

This time instead of being the landlord, I was hauling out my 28 year old nephews belongings over in Illinois. His death was unexpected due to his Epilepsy. I also knew my brother could not and shouldn't do this task alone. So I was on a road trip with the tuck this weekend

If you need to get humbled, walk in residents shoes for a mile.

Where I will still be all business next time, I will be more understanding.

So sorry for your loss. It is great that you were able to go help them out like that.

With you on the tenant's side, I'm sure things will be a lot smoother for his landlord, too. --68.10.xxx.x

Sorry to read that. Glad you are there to help in this way. It certainly would be difficult for your brother at this time of lost. Thanks for posting the experience. (((Prays))) --99.203.xx.xxx

Difficult PackOut (by Robert J [CA]) Posted on: Jun 9, 2019 6:44 PM
Message:

Sorry about your loss. I used to have an army of vehicles. Trailers (2 and 4 wheel), pick up trucks, vans and a large flatbed truck with a lift gate. My problem is "people don't listen". When asked to help friends, family or tenants move, I'd respond -- I'll move boxed and items ready for transport but I will NOT PACK or box items. On moving day almost nothing is packed and ready to load up...they wanted to save money by not getting professional movers but didn't even spring for enough boxes, packing tape and moving pads.
