Classic example of a collection gone "bad"! Ex tenant countered sued that he and his company responded to the garnishment. Here you have 45 days. We just got paperwork from the court FRIDAY denying his claim based on 2 reasons. #1 court said they never received his paperwork or his rep's "stuff". Second and this is classic and the "BABAM" part . The court stated that even if they had received the response as he indicted-- it would have been filed after the deadline anyway!!!!! THEREFORE would have been denied for that fact along.
TODAY at noon, Tuesday, picked up certified funds for 2500.00 at PO from X tenant-- This started 24 months ago. So tenant lost 1500.00 deposit and paid another 2500.00.
YOU CAN NEVER GET ANY MONEY IF YOU DON'T AT LEAST TRY!!!!!

Amen, myob! Yesterday I opened a letter from a garnishment we sent out last month... check for $322 + change. Not a princely sum, but better than nothin'. Ought to buy a few of my favorite 6-packs and take the missus and me out to dinner at a nice restaurant and a movie. --173.20.xxx.xxx |

Had a ex tenant leave her job rather than have wages garnished...she signed a Stipulation, and so far, I've received the promised monthly payments....1/2 have been late, but they still sent it.
Funny thing, with the measley amount of money she made, I would have got less money with garnishment than I am with stipulation --209.203.xxx.xx |

Once I got a judgement, I filed garnishment with court, and of course paid filing fee, then had garnishment papers served to employer, more money to serve.
I'm my case, ex T left job, so no money, But, I had to take her hubby to court on contempt charges, he refused to fill out interrogatories, at that court date, with assistance of a moderator, we came to an agreement and signed a Stipulation and filed it with the court.
I've done all the leg work and paper work myself, from initial 3 day Notice to Pay or Quit, to eviction and garnishment. The local courthouse website has all the self help forms and instructions. My local courthouse also has a Self Help Advocate. --67.143.xxx.xx |

MALAW as with any endeavor that brngs in $ you have to learn it. Each state is different but one thing is the same. If your a LL and run tenants- then once you learn garnishment its a money stream.
C&J she didn't leave her job to avoid garnishment-- bosses hate garnish accounts due to rules-- like if they (owner) don't do it THEY NOW OWN IT. So they find a way to dump the liability. This is where you have to do as you did and keep after it. Judgments are the gifts that keep giving-- especially in this economy...... --99.103.xxx.xxx |
