My pre-screening form has a section for explanatory comments and someone decided to give me a "story" by writing a book. At least their writing it burned up their time rather than my time actually listening to this. This person was from FB and was bugging me to give him a phone number which I refused. I think I'll adjust form so lengthy comments such as these can't be made:

"Me and my lady are good people's. We work and come home. We believe in living a peaceful quiet life. We dont have company often and we are in the rebuilding phase. Our current landlord Sid some under handed things. Which has caused me to have to go to court and try to straighten things out when I could be doing it here things.

Essentially he (the landlord) came to us in feb. Dictating to us that he was going to keep our security deposit and give us one month rent free, he wanted us to move because he wanted to sell the house. At this point in time we did not owe anything. I knew he could not just break the lease like that. We went to the courthouse but they said there was nothing we could do until the landlord files paperwork. Eventually he did when he realized we were not leaving on May 1st.

We went to the judge told the landlord he can not break the rental agreement. And that he would have to replace the security deposit and for us to pay the land lord the back rent if we wanted to stay. I told the judge I had no problem with letting the landlord out of the rental agreement but he was dictating instead of negotiating. We have started a life on this area. I work with trouble and at risk youth.

The judge ordered that if we wanted to stay in the property that we would have to pay those two months rent. So the judge broke it down into 4 payment to be included with the rent. Which took our rent up to 1450. I told the judge it would be impossible for me to maintain that rent.

After our court hearing my landlord and I talked again over the phone we agree to leave at the end of May he could keep the deposit and in return give us the month of May. So essentially to let him out the rental agreement he would give us two month free. Thats what are agreement was. Two weeks later he goes back to the court and filed paper work again. I have him on tape to protect myself and to confirm our after coirt agreement. He went behind my back because he claims that he wanted to be sure that we leave. The courts failure to give me due process the just issued an eviction. I'm going there today to attempt to straighten this matter out because the eviction order is not right and needs to be taken off of my record. This is very serious. And because this guy is not a man of his word, he. Did this instead of honoring our agreement. I believe it is important for me to be honest with you. Because I'm sure you know there are bad tenants just as well as bad landlords. I just want peace of mind and someone who will honor there word. This land lord created this entire mess when he wanted to break the rental agreement. Prior to that we didnt owe him nothing --209.122.xx.xxx

The longer the story, the more drama you will have with a tenant. Those folks are incapable of distinguishing what is important and what isn't and they are incapable of seeing anything that isn't directly them.

All excuses about why an eviction is not a teannt's fault are always long and convoluted and contain everything including the kitchen sink. but no realization that the tenant contributed in any way to the problem. --98.146.xxx.xxx

You need a small space for them to write their story! Or was this electronic? What did they do with the money they were suppose to pay rent with? Interesting perspective when people "feel" they have been done wrong. Next! --99.203.xx.xx

Can you limit the form to 100 characters? Or does unlimited give give you more information to screen? --99.203.xx.xx

LL probably had this fool on a m2m and opted to not renew. Note how he says they wanted two months for "free" in exchange for the LL keeping the SD. His future is in substandard housing and multiple evictions. --172.58.xxx.xx
