Last year was my first year attending. So I can only speak for last year. Some of the conference is that, but there was also plenty of valuable information to be pulled from the content taught. Most instructors did a presentation, and provided information. Then at the conclusion of their presentation they offer products if you wanted them. Most were very low pressure. It was more of an oh by the way if your interested. From what I remember there was only one set of presenters that did a very hard push of their products and seminars. Even then I pulled ideas from what they talked about. Hope that helps. --107.77.xxx.xx

I have attended the Convention the past 3 years. Yes, the presenters have information they sell, but the really good ones will give you enough "teasers" to make it worth your while.

One thing to keep in mind: the fundamentals of real estate investing do not change. But the methodology does. For example, the first time I went in 2016, I didn't know or hadn't given much thought to bi-weekly rentals. I credit Brad 20K for introducing me to that concept, although I was insistent to it at first. Since then, that concept alone has made me over $10,000 and it cost me nothing more than the $129 Convention registration fee.

Some of the speakers are a bit "fluffy", but Jeffrey will keep them on track. I recall one year he halted one speaker's presentation mid-flow and said, "These's folks want some nuggets of wisdom. Give them some meat to chew on." While I wasn't particularly interested in that speaker's style/strategy, I did pick up a couple of good ideas. It was worth it.

So a lot of what you'll hear you may already have heard...but that one little nugget is worth sifting thru a few pounds of gravel. Some presenters are better than others and you'll get many nuggets just from the way they wake your mind up to consider new ideas. I'm guilty of that....I went off on a tangent a few times drawing up plans and thoughts that has zero to do with the current presenter. Most of them didn't pan out, but a few did.

Also, you will talk to folks offline who aren't presenters and get dozens of ideas for the cost of a beer at the bar. Yeah, it's $6 a beer, but the ideas are worth so much more!

Bottom line: give it a try. If all you do it go and listen and ask questions and don't buy a single thing, you'll come away with at least a couple thousand $$$ worth of ideas to implement. And maybe more! --173.20.xxx.xxx

When I attended the Cleveland Mr. Landlord Convention two years ago, it was jam packed full of great content. Some of the speakers have books or packages they are selling, but I never felt pressured to purchase anything.

I walked away with TONS of information to implement in my business and I didn't spend any extra monies.

While their is plenty of the pedaling of products and services for those who want to purchase it we also found a lot of good information at our first convention last year in St. Louis.

And it is so much more than just the presenters. Their are 400 like-minded people all around you to talk to and bounce ideas off of during meals or after the presentations are done. And the evening round tables are excellent. --24.20.xxx.xxx

Every one of Jeffrey's events that I've attended, were all first class. They all had things for LLs to purchase but none of them were hard sell buy it or else. For me personally, I've always found Jeffrey's presentation were all about sharing his LLing knowledge to help make our businesses more successful.

As an added bonus I've gotten the chance to meet & share real life experience with like minded LL professionals. I've even got the chance to meet as my DW calls "my imaginary axe murder" internets friends in person.

program. Jeffery brings in the talent and gives them a shot to share some information hoping to get some business. Not really hard sell. Otherwise the convention would be much more expensive. All good.

There will be opportunities to buy the material you hear about from the presenter. If you have never attended a Mr. LL conference You will be impressed, and will learn far more than what it cost to attend. --108.243.xxx.xx

Good one, Jerry/NC "It appears you know too much to attend but not enough to present." Haha!

We attended our first one in 2010 I think or maybe 2011. It literally changed our lives. Since then I think we have only missed one or two. And that was because we either went to the Boot Camp or the Landlord Retreat instead! And we regretted missing the Convention and won't make that mistake again.

Yes, there are folks selling their in-depth knowledge. But Jeffrey insists that their "free" presentations be valuable, not just sales pitches for their stuff. And there is ZERO pressure to buy stuff, except the pressure you put on yourself LOL! We have to pinkie-swear with each other NOT to buy stuff each year...usually we break that oath... --50.82.xxx.xx

When Reggie Brooks started to pour on more of the sell than the knowledge - Jeffery stopped him in his tracks and asked him to regroup himself.

Where there are certainly courses you can buy, the knowledge of one small nugget of info paid for the attending by 10 fold in less than a month......(for those who attended it was the pricing tip with the number 9 in it)

You don't have to go. If you elect to go, Jeffery does have a money back guaranty after the first day. You will be happy or in my opinion - you are an incredible cheap idiot. I am planning on bring some AD Kessler magazines from a couple of decades ago with Jeffery as a contributor. I first Jeffery out in San Diego in the early 90's.

If you are a mom and pop operator - the only question you have to ask yourself, are you happy in the manner you operate. If the answer is yes - you should not attend. If you want to work on process improvement, if you want to improve cash flow, and work on specializing in a profitable niche, then you should be attending. I'll save an open seat for you just so that you not all alone.

This is not a zero sum game. If you learn how to make an extra $800/month on your units, it will not take $800 from the person next to you. Moreover, if you don't attend a conference like this, who to say your tenants (attendees don't have tenants) aren't attending a workshop called how to pick your LL pocket? --72.23.xxx.xx

I highly recommend this conference. I've met many lifelong LL friends there, including Jeffrey. I've come away with ideas that have made me THOUSANDS over the years. And I always get to eat well while there... LOL. Little Italy is just around the corner...

Some ideas we have used:

"you want fries with that?" Jeffrey, upgrade your leases

"ELT" early lease termination fee. it works.

Many, many specific clauses in our lease

How to screen, and what services to screen with (HUGE)

just a few off the top of my head. Ten years ago I told the boss I was taking off for a LL conference. His reply? How can you afford that, I only pay you $XX. My response: soon you will pay me $00. LLing made that happen when I was 58. I think he's still in shock. Go, you will not regret it. --69.80.xx.xx
