Wed evening to meet otjer successful LLs, and hang with friends, speakers, Thu sessions, Fri sessions, home Sat and Sun for graduation/family.

I am going to the Convention. It will be a homecoming of sorts as I lived in Cleveland before heading to Ontario. I am looking forward to the sessions and to meeting people whose posts I read here. I will not be going this year since Cleveland is way beyond my 500 mile driving limit. St. Louis is barely okay but not Cleveland which is over 700 miles. I only fly on commercial jets when the destination is Santa Barbara, CA or Hawaii. Hint, Hint.
So, what else can I say, the king of the Handyman Ads will not be in Cleveland next week. I will miss those Round-table discussions though. Last year in St. Louis, the tables were actually round too,..LOL. --68.63.xxx.xxx |

I am not as young and adventurous as I use to be. Back in mid-80"s, I use to drive from B'ham to CA (2,200 miles) and think nothing of it. Those days are long gone. I have a 500 mile limit now which is a 1 day drive for me.

Nashville is about 2 hours further for us, 12 hours vs. 10. But we take two days to get there regardless, and two days back. I can't sit in a car for 10+ hours anymore, so we break it up into 5 or 6 hour chunks. --50.82.xxx.xx |

I live just 30 minutes from the venue; absolutely I'll be there. My first Mr. Landlord Convention was back in 2017, when it was also in Cleveland.
I learned so much that first convention, and expect to learn as much or more this time around.
Last time I had 3 units, now I have 7...reaching my goal one unit at a time.
Looking forward to meeting lots of eager-to-learn landlords next weekend.

DJ, no direct flights to Cleveland for us, so by the time we:
1) drive to the airport (1.5 hours) to arrive
2) 1.5 hours early for flight then
3) fly 3.35 hours at best and
4) shuttle to airport (no idea of time)
5) shuttle back to airport to arrive
6) 1.5 hours early for flight home
7) flight time 3.35 hours at best with no delays
8) drive 1.5 hours home

People ask me all the time how to grow their business. My answer: Get to National Convention! Knowledge is power and profit. Motivation comes from other people. You cannot "get" motivation at your desk. It comes from being around other people doing the same thing you are, experiencing the same problems you are. Can't charge a battery from a dead battery.
Wifey was not sure about this biz but came along to our first conference. I was perturbed she was not sitting in the session, BUT she was in a chance "counseling session" in the hall with a presenter's wife who took the time to encourage her. That sealed her in and energized her to join our business. SHE started buying houses! We bought 14 that year.
