Do any of you ever put in those under cabinet light strips to make the kitchen more appealing to tenants?

Thanks. I was thinking of those stick on strips that don't require an outlet. Probably not worth the bother. --72.188.xxx.xxx

When I have a "dark" kitchen with counters in weird areas, I will install some under counter lights turned on by a real wall switch and powered by house current. No batteries. --47.156.xx.xx

J,

In flips, using a motion sensor to turn them on when the realtor steps into the room and light up my beautiful glass tile backsplash.

Batteries in a rental? No. --73.102.xxx.xxx

I just wired in under cabinet lights on my last remodel at my brother's suggestion. It looks good and ads a touch of elegance. --24.20.xxx.xxx

Brad I actually installed one of those motion sensor types in my own home, although it's a plug in instead of hardwired to something. They are nice. --72.188.xxx.xxx

Search for Mr. Beams MB706 Wireless Motion-Sensing Mini Stick-Anywhere LED Nightlights, Small, White, 6-Pack in Amazon.

With occasional use, the batteries last and last and last! Besides, you can replace the 4 AAA batteries when needed. Just don't glue them in a place where you cannot remove the back cover to replace the batteries. If the tenants steal them from you, charge them the full replacement cost.

Or, place them in an ideal position in a way that tenants cannot remove them nor remove the batteries. Those lights should last a few years.

These lights may not serve so well as under cabinet lights but are very useful for lighting up dark corners or closets. If anyone knows of similar lights that are bigger or brighter, please share the info. --65.188.xxx.x

I bought five or six small white strands of white Christmas lights for fifty cents a piece after season one year. Just haven’t gotten around to tacking then up. Tenants would have to plug them in to turn them on. That’s easy enough, but, then there is the plug hanging down. .. not a great look. I’ve ended up putting long led fixtures in the kitchens instead.

Trouble with that...now we can see that the floor in one house, countertops in another aren’t so great looking *grin*

In my own kitchen we did under cabinet LEDs and dimmable LEDs in glass door cabinets up where are soffits used to be. Those upper glass doors have a rain or seed glass pattern, and with the dimmers, it’s very pretty with all of my husband’s canned goods ( pickles, tomatoes in mason jars,) up there. --70.92.xxx.xxx
