Anyone have any experience with Jet Coat Shower Walls by Foremost? We are considering installing in rental around bath tub. Anyone use this product and have any feedback? --99.203.xx.xxx |

Plenty, I googled and came up with 2 different returns. 1 is a coating referred in the industry as powder coating, this is a very brittle coating used for rust protection in outdoor mobile environments like the auto and aerospace suspension parts, once it is chipped by stones rust develops fast.
2nd series was sold at hd marketed over 800bux for shower walls that are 200 in fiberglass and if you are handy with ceramic tiles you can do for half of that.

Pre fab walls they are sold at Menards but a bit less expensive at plumbing supply. Hung with glue and caulk. --99.203.xx.xxx |

4x8 sheets of PVC panels sell for about $80 at Big Box Stores -
Tenant proof walls for tub & shower constructed out of PVC Panels just requires common sense to install --73.182.xxx.xxx |

This sysytem is easily transported and has the finishing strips included. Cost about the same as a nice three piece tub surround but easy to trasport and handle. Looks like tile. Four colors available. The install video is available on Mernards website. It's about $150 cheaper from plumbing supply house. --99.203.xx.xxx |

Just installed and really like the jetcoat walls. They are fairly easy to install. Walls must be almost perfectly plumb and square. Took about 5 tubes of glue for a 60x32. Have some alcohol on hand to clean up synthetic caulk. Pretty pleased for about $500 + caulk and glue. --47.201.xx.xxx |

Its bern a year. And it looks great. Just like new. We used the glue the manufacturer recommended. It was in a tub like caulk. We used everybit of the amount they recommended. --99.203.xx.xxx |

If you are considering this product they have two install instructions... one used provided corner strips which we did however they fail to tell you that the walls have to be exactly square. Even with our new green board walls they were not perfect square. So after struggling with the glue and strip and slightly not perfectly square walls the tip is DO NOT USE THE CORNER STRIPS! We had a long discussion with the manufacturer about it, that was how frustrated we were. --99.203.xx.xxx |

Thank you for a quick response about adhesive but I emailed them and they said they use liquid nail on there displays but couldn’t clarify which one as there are many types . I was wondering if I should use tub surround type adhesive (which is generally for plastic/fiberglass )or regular construction adhesive . --107.77.xxx.xxx |

Thanks for the recommendation . I have seen a lot of complaints about the corner trim. I will not use the trim and silicone the corners --107.77.xxx.xxx |

I called them . They said you can pretty much use any type of adhesive as long as it’s not commercial grade . --107.77.xxx.xxx |

I’d be inclined to use tub surround adhesive. Then there wouldn’t be any risk of bleed through. That can happen with liquid nails and standard fiberglass walls. --70.20.xx.xxx |

We like the product and would install again. But we would not use the provided corners they are too small to be forgiving. You may have read my ranting complaint. As i was not too pleased when it simply could have been avoided and our final procuct better. Good yo know about the adadhesive i would use the ones made for shower walls instead of the brown liquid nails. It ain't coming down! --99.203.xx.xxx |

I have purchased the shower system and am concerned about the bottoms at the shower pan. After putting up the water resistant sheetrock/wall board, I believe that it will be out just a hair at the bottom (i.e. the shower pan lip the wall board covers or goes into) will this be a problem for the corner trim and the back wall fit or is it such a slight difference it won't matter?
Thanks in advance. --24.117.xx.xx |

I had excellent call back service from the manufacturer. So you may try and contact them with your concerns. The walls have to be perfectly plum to use the corner strips. My install was a tub, yours a shower. I would think caulk would help in your situation but the biggest benefit is for the product to work and less reliance on caulk. Sounds like your walls are installed so caulk away, and see how it holds up. It's been two years on my install and its all working well, we had to heavily caulk the vertical corners. Hope that helps. --172.56.xx.xx |
