Oh no, you guys will be devestated to know we missed the "International Barbed Wire Expo" at our local chamber. Yes 25 whole booths devoted to the 1,500 patenteted styles of barb wire.

Wow an INTERNATIONAL barbed wire expo. Gotta love it. My town regulates barbed wire. yup it is in the code and where you can put barbed wire strands on top of a chain link fence they have to tilt in... So easy enough to climb to get into the area, but getting out might be more difficult. --108.4.xxx.xx |

I love razor wire on top of fences. When gang member and thugs think they can use my property as a short cut to inflict mayhem.
I've use spikes, grease, glue, tacks, glue down broken glass. But razor wire keep them out. Not easy to cut or climb around. Of course I put some props in some of the sharp edges like bits of ripped clothing and blood to warn other, be careful. --47.156.xx.xx |

Why not? Barb wire is history of the founding of our country. Some people enjoy history.
A collection doesn't take up a lot of room, and I suspect it doesn't cost as much (although I haven't priced antique barb wire.)

As a retired professor from NIU in DeKalb, IL, I recall that there is a barbed wire museum at the Elwood mansion built by a guy who got rich from manufacturing barbed wire. DeKalb was known as the "barbed city" back when it was the barb wire capital of the US. --67.186.xxx.xxx |

LOL - Wilma and Steve - that one is called the "Gold Miners Show" and is in Quartsite every Feb.
You can buy those special shovels we use here in the desert to dig square holes for mine shafts... and err, other things. :)
