This is purely a boasting post, and hopeful an encouraging post. I just finished getting everything together to give to the CPA to do my taxes. Nearly 16 years ago when I bought the first rental, i never imagined we wouid make this much money. I haven’t had a job since the early 90s, ( I was self employed) but the wife worked up until about 4 years ago. ( she is still in her 40s ) After totaling all of our numbers, before all the hocus pocus the CPA will do with depreciation and deductions and what nots. We cleared about $225 k. All off of rentals. We have less than 30 in an amazing market. Our net worth is now better than 4 million, all off of rentals. Of course expenses were down last year, since we only had two turnovers, and I am an avid DIYer, but still, we made great money, all off of rentals, I made many trips out of state last year, took many naps, and only set my alarm clock on the days I was going to catch a plane. All off of rentals! The dream can come true. We started with a few thousand dolllars and a great credit rating for massive leverage. Work your rear end off for several years, and see for your self. We have a few tenants that work for the Amazon in our area making great money. Too bad you all lost out on those 25,000 jobs. As long as we can keep er Red, it will continue to prosper. Love this ! Keeps me going. With every property I buy I wonder if this is the right property to buy at this time. Knock on wood, so far I've done my homework and its paying off.
