I have an old refrigerator that is running fine, but, the metal drain pan is rusted out. That leaves a puddle of water under the refrigerator.

The metal drain pan bolts to the top of the compressor.

The refrigerator is old enough that I cannot get a new OEM pan.

To get a sheet metal shop to fabricate a new pan would cost more than the refrigerator is worth.

Any suggestions on how to fix this refrigerator?

Thanks!

How old is this fridge that it has a metal drip pan? My 25 year old fridge has a plastic drip pan. If it’s older than that it is probably time to replace the fridge. --64.222.xxx.xxx

What is the brand of that refrigerator? Someone is doing something right. When replacement parts are not available you will have to make do with what ever you have......but this is impressive that you are getting the number of years out of the appliance.

About 10 years ago, I remember buying a place that had a frig from the 1940's-50s in the basement. It still was plugged in and worked. At some point, even a working frig should finally make it out to the garage or better yet recycling. How much power is being used by it compared to a new one? New appliances is a great marketing tool --72.23.xxx.xx
