On Monday another old old judgment surfaced and paid their final amount - $647.
A second old old judgment paid too. Their final payment was $3.26!
File on them all!

IN NC, judgment expires after 10 years. Can be renewed once for additional 10 years. So I did that on one that I knew I would never collect. At 17 years, the debtor contacted me wanting to pay the debt. NC allows interest. Sweet! --66.44.xxx.xxx |

Awesome deal, Brad! Your posts inspire me to keep after it.
We're not seeing a lot come in right now: $50 here....$100 there. Nothing big. But it all ads up. I still need to run my numbers, but I'm estimating a little over $1000 received during 2018. Since we outsource all our collections, this is pure profit/money we would not have ever seen had we let it go. Need to add, in NC, renewing a money judgment requires locating the debtor in order that they would be served with notice of a new hearing, filing for the new hearing, etc. At the hearing, the evidence presented is the unpaid judgment. NC law provides that it shall be renewed provided that the filing is before the 10 years elapses. --66.44.xxx.xxx |

I should add the old judgment FOUND US! We were not chasing it. Apparently the debtor wanted or needed to get rid of the liability.
