State Specific Question About: TENNESSEE (TN)
I have cheap cabinets in a Mobile home that has been wet on bottom of doors and below the doors. It has expanded out and flakes off easy. Is there any way to fix these? --73.120.x.xx |

Not really. If you must keep the door, you could saturate it with some glue that turns clear and hard when dried. --73.52.xx.xxx |

You'll be money and time ahead to just replace the cabinets. Maybe just the bottom cabinets? --99.203.xx.xxx |

Agree with Plenty.
You would just be polishing a … piece of excrement. No way to make it valuable. Replace them. --173.233.xxx.xxx |

If these cabs are original, they may be hand built. You can tell by looking carefully at the way they are made.
The hand built ones just had 1x2's attached to the walls and ceiling and had panels attached to them. No backs. Often no sides, just ends. More modern cabinets made in factories have complete cases with sides. They are each separate boxes. Most of the time, it's easier to just replace the entire cabinet if it's a box. If it's hand built, you might just remove the bad panel and replace it.
Look close. basic boxes cost about $35-65 at big box stores like HD or Lowes.
Lots of times it's easier to knock out a bad panel and replace or change out one box. Stain finish makes matching it harder. If just painting, paint all exposed areas and probably leave inside alone.
Doors can be ordered separately or made. Probably $7-15 each from big box stores or look at habitat restore or used building material places for lower prices below $5. --23.121.xx.xxx |

Cabinets which turned into sponges when they got wet, suffer damage beyond repair, and better be replaced. --99.59.x.xxx |
