has anyone used any of the background check site
(like checkmate) that are offered online?
i don't qualify to use the tenant screening system on this site (need an office, don't have a spare room to call an office)
i know there are services that offer tenant screening but it cost more than what i am charging for application fee. for a basic credit report it cost $25. for more info, they are usually asking for $15 more. I don't want to put my own money to run a detailed check.
for those that are doing their own tenant screening, how do you go about it?

I pull all but credit HERE - you don't need an office to pull their other reports and they are great!

My problem is that I run so few reports per year due to a low amount of rentals and holdover tenants staying 2-3 years. I did the inspection thing, and got the ability to do background checks, but my problem is that by the time my next set of reports were run, it was time for another inspection all over again.
I started using AmerUSA. They run the background checks, but sensor the info they give you. It's more their opinion of your tenant rather than the tenant's info, but it's easy and quick. Better than nothing if you're as low volume as I am. --99.125.xxx.xxx |

Landlordoftheflies, just so you know , if you are requesting TransUnion credit reports from this site, you do NOT have to do annual inspections. Just the one-time initial inspection.
