I'd suggest you go to your county courthouse and talk with the people in the Court clerk's office and simply ask which local attorneys seem to file the most Bad check / bad debt cases in their court. Don't ask who the best ones are because I doubt that they are allowed to address those matters . Lots of times you can read between the lines . And you can go to court and watch your local attorneys in action. --99.151.xx.xx

Following Reid's advice, our court will not give out referrals but they DO post a schedule on the bulletin board showing all the cases and parties/attys involved that day.
Look for repeats and make some calls.
In this economy, few collections are worth pursuing by a professional.
If you have an address (the pro will need that anyway) you can file yourself. Not hard.
Rent collections are at the very bottom of collection agency priorities, so don't get too excited about their promises. --50.129.xxx.xxx
