State Specific Question About: WISCONSIN (WI)

Tenant has had a clogged sink drain two times in the last 6 months three times total since I bought the place 2 years ago. I told her she would have to pay to have it cleaned. She at that point became mad started yelling, claiming poverty, ( but she has new washer, dryer, TV, and furniture) and then hung up on me.

The tenant has lived there about 5 years total. does not take very good care of the place numerous broken windows, a fire, filthy walls and carpet etc...

What should I do about this situation?

After those problems, why keep her? Time to find another tenant. Be sure your next contract specifies that clearance of drain clogs are the responsibility of the tenant. --98.108.xxx.xx

I guess I have to ask why she's still there? Do you not see a pattern ? She's Poor ? Ok I'd say she's too poor to remain in your place. --99.117.xxx.xxx

Why are you not fixing these things and billing the tenant - fire? In my lease I will do a drain in the first 60 days than I will only unlock the unit, the tenant pays for this damage and make payment plan with XYZ sewer cleaners, I handle no cash for the tenant to pay them with. --65.43.xxx.x

Which drain and do you have any idea what is causing the clogging?

Didn't winter in Wisconsin start this past August? Do you think you will get a tenant for January first?

If this is a minor clog I would just keep the tenant...of five years. Isn't that about Thirty thousand dollars? --173.66.x.xxx

Smokowma has a good point about long term tenant, but as others have noted she is a problem with other things. Keep her until the ground thaws in April and then evict. Broken widows isn't a sign of poverty, it's a sign of negligence. --75.33.xxx.xxx

You must like abuse... Learn to say NO. Poverty is in her state of mind, not in her wallet.

Also, stop looking at the items she buys. She has a sugar daddy who pays for repairs that she should pay for. He also doesn't mine that she is nasty, lazy with the cleaning, or with the upkeep of his property.

Evict the lady, thank her for her 60 monthly payments on your mortgage, and move on to green, cleaner pastures. --99.39.xxx.xxx
