State Specific Question About: WISCONSIN (WI)
Does WI Landlord have choice about Section 8 Tenant whether to consider or not. (section 8 is govt. subsidize rent) --75.128.xxx.xxx |

I am not sure about all cities in Wisconsin as some may have stricter laws, but as far as I know, a landlord in most of the cities, are not required to accept Section 8.
The best thing to do, would be to call your local Section 8 office and ask them. They should know.
Sorry I could not be of more help. I do have Section 8 tenants and I am usually happy with most if not all of them. Just screen like any other applicant.
Hope this helps a little.

In Madison, you cannot deny just because they are section 8. You have to consider section 8 money as income, I believe. Also, even if they don't meet income requirements, if they have been renting a similar priced apartment recently then you cannot deny them on the basis of income. Also, if they are not on section 8 while renting from you and then do get on section 8 you have to take them as a section 8 tenant. This is just Madison. However, you don't have to renew a lease. --66.82.x.xx |

Jim, go up to the top of this pg in in the blue lettering, click on 'Landlord/Tenant State Laws.' Choose WI and PRINT the whole thing. Put in a 3-ring binder on your desk for reference! --140.140.xx.x |

Then set it aside because it won't answer your question -- which is going to depend on WHERE you live in WI. :)
