When I opened my mail yesterday, one tenant had sent two money orders-folded in half. One must have gotten caught in my letter opener, b/c it is now sliced neatly in half. My Dh taped the back side of it, but I am afraid to cash it as is, for fear it will be sent back and my bank will charge me. I just called the MO company, and they want $15 to replace the da**** thing. Have any of you ever tried to deposit such a thing?? --76.188.xxx.xxx

I had a money order I accidently tossed in the trash. After dumping my coffee grounds on it I realized what I did. I took it out, let it dry and dusted off the coffee grounds. The bank accepted it and it cleared the MO company no problems. --96.225.xxx.xxx

I've passed money is similar condition, so I would think a money order would pass just fine. --66.117.xx.xxx

when i worked at the bank 10 years ago.. we accepted taped money -then we would put it in the mutilated money pile...i would try and see. as long as the numbers match up, i don't see any reason why they wouldn't take it, especially if you are established at this bank with your business. --74.240.x.xxx

I have seen money passed with wine coolers stained, my favorite flavor too! I got more wine coolers when on vacation. --76.241.xxx.xxx
