State Specific Question About: MINNESOTA (MN)

My tenant gave me "30" days notice on the 12th of this month that she would be out by the 21st of this month.

The house was abandoned on the 15th but still had her belongings in the garage. She sent me a email notification that her belongings were confiscated by me, which they weren't as she still had keys and access to everything.

The notice given on the 20th asked for 24 hours to retrieve her belongings.

She left what I would consider trash and boxes under the carport. What should I think ? That she is done and left it behind to be disposed of ?

I have no way to contact her.

Why can't you respond via email? Or leave note by the door locks. --151.213.x.xx

Ditto Mr. R...tenants cannot sue you unless they can reasonably prove they left valuable items. Just coming in with a laundry list for the judge doesn't cut it, unless you have a VERY liberal judge.

Maybe if it was left under the carport someone else came by to pick it up? Maybe an advertizement posted on CL said "Free stuff" and other people just showed up to claim it. Hint, hint, nudge, nudge... --204.80.xxx.xx

I just want to make sure that I do not have to store her "trash" for the state law of 60 days since she gave me the notice of collecting her belongings within 24 hours on the 20th.

Store? No way.

Leave it there until you're ready to make a dump run or have other stuff to leave at the curb? Absolutely.

No reason to be crappy to her and dump it this afternoon, but don't let a pile of cra p in the corner of the yard keep you from moving forward with what really matters either. --96.244.xx.xxx

I found out, much to my horror, that if devil woman had left her belongings over a certain dollar amount, I had to pay someone to store it. If it was big stuff like furniture, I had to hire someone to move it and store it. There is a guy here in CA who specializes in eviction moves, and I was thankful she only left trash and junk, because he's not cheap. --72.51.xx.xxx
