State Specific Question About: KENTUCKY (KY)

Can you tell me what to do about a tiolet that doesn't flush properly, it has to be flushed twice or either hold the handle down so it will flush all the way...Rosemary --72.23.xxx.xxx

And make sure the little holes along the rim of the bowl are not crusted over with calcium. Just takes a wire coat hanger to ream them out. Especially if tenants are using any kind of automatic bowl cleaner. --151.213.x.xx

If toilet handle needs held for a good flush Shorten the chain on the flapper but be careful not to shorten it too much and cause the fapper not to sit down all the way. Pull the lid and flush it and look what's happening-probably only opening and closing for a moment-needs to completely fall back and then fall back down when water goes out. I never use full length of chain provided but shorten it.

Also make sure handle is correctly pulling the chain. --74.194.xxx.x

P.S. I've seen handles hit the lid before getting the flapper up enough, usually from a chain with too much slack. --74.194.xxx.x
