Is a cinder block house more or less valuable than a frame house and why?
Thank you for your time. --73.19.xxx.xx |

If the cinder block is exposed on the inside as well as the outside, you can pretty much pressure wash it all. Just put a drain in the middle of the floor.
OK for a low-end rental. --72.218.xx.xxx |

Common in my area. It should look tight and be straight... look for condition issues. Poured concrete is preferred. It was a cheaper way to build once and common. --172.59.xxx.xx |

Less chances of tenants hanging a lot of pictures with nails I guess.
Outside could easily be sided to make it look nicer. Inside would need a makeover as well to bring it up a class. That could get pricey.
Electrical, plumbing, heating and communications runs need planned out ahead of time.
Blocks help keep the wind down and insect intrusion is a little harder. Sound from outside would be less, maybe.
Not sure if your area would cause too much heat inside once the blocks started baking. If you build out the inside you could foam insulate the walls. If able to get to the top of the block you could have the voids insulated as well, which would be optimal but probably not very easy and possibly not cost effective. --47.227.xx.xxx |

I think Thomas Edison built a community of concrete houses. Turned out not so well. --72.0.xxx.xx |

Our local school is painted concrete blocks on the inside, brick facade on the outside. I don't know if it's a durability thing or if it's a tornado-proofing thing.
When I lived with my family in student housing in a university campus when my dad was a grad student, those houses were also painted cinderblock on the interiors, brick facade on the exteriors. --96.46.xxx.xxx |

All my Florida houses are block houses. I did own a framed one once and then had more to worry about as far as termites. But it didn’t seem to affect sales prices. In Florida it seems block houses are more popular. --47.201.xxx.xxx |

We have found if they have sheetrock inside and you add a heatpump, be sure insulated well or they will mold. --216.126.xx.xx |

NE, I am wondering if the sale value of a block house is any different one way or the other than a frame house of the same size and shape? --73.19.xxx.xx |
