Some countries have a negative interest rates nowadays.
Any ideas how we can utilize it in the USA?
I don’t mind to have 0% mortgage or a credit card to transfer money.

Probably works against us. Rather than keeping money overseas, foreign investors are keeping it here or investing in tangible goods like real estate, metals, art, etc. Anything other than keeping it in the bank sitting in an account and shrinking by the day. --108.69.xxx.xxx |

I don't recall who it was but they implemented negative rates so to stimulate people spending more money rather than holding it in the bank.
What people did instead was hold onto their money more than before and didn't spend it.
It is the constant turning of money that we all need.
(I wish we could get a Capital Gains reduction. What is the word for complete pass....get out of jail card?)

Libi, I may be wrong but I think your misunderstanding “negative interest rates” When they talk about negative interest rates in the news during deflationary periods they are referring to the interest that the central bank (and perhaps private banks) charge to depositors. Instead of the money you have deposited into the bank earning interest, the banks are charging you interest to store your money at the bank. It doesn’t mean that your mortgage, credit cards, etc. etc. carry a zero or “negative” interest rate. --174.242.xxx.xx |
