As we've continued to grow, it's been harder to do background checks quickly and thoroughly, particularly when I have someone with a common name. For example, I got a "John Smith" this past weekend who applied and there are 41 pages with 10 entries each on our free online court database I use. Yikes! Even with his middle name to help, I still spent 15 minutes just clicking thru cases to try to match birth dates (when given on the Case) & other parties named.
I've tried one paid background check source once before, but they don't seem much more useful for people with common names. I still get several pages of results, but the report asks me to verify who is who. Wait! That's what I'm PAYING for....not to just run a dumb query. I want THEM to be cross checking the birth dates and other associated parties.
Ideally, I want something linked by SSN, birth date, and if we find case A with John Smith and Mary Jane from 2015, then there's another case with John C. Smith and Mary D. Jane from 2018....ding, ding, ding! We have a winner! I realize that info isn't always in some criminal DBs. Any suggestions or recommendations? --107.216.xxx.xxx |

Get previous names from the women, often stuff goes into maiden names and they have a photo ID to show to electric or gas workers. A long time ago I had a 5000bux judgement on a (I thought) lady tenant, turns out she was a he and had recently been put away for armed robbery on the next street from my place used the male identification - the ssn was how I found out. --76.188.xxx.xx |

I use transunion my smart move, they will do criminal check using birthdates. Their credit report also shows collections .

Why aren't you using the check from here? We do the 25.00 and it's perfect for us. We do our own court records and BK report and marry up the reports-- with DV lic stuff and pay check addresses. We also cross reference their current address with the property assessors records to see who really owns it-- if LL or just bogus address. --99.103.xxx.xxx |

Add a (Lic.) Private Investigator to your screening process.
Match name, age, SS#, current address, phone #.
Small price to pay when your searching for the truth.
