Off topic... sort of :)
This morning I got up and was making coffee and as I was rinsing the pot and filling it up I heard what sounded like water "running" after I walked away. I didn't do anything, just went "hmm" at the time.
Then I was rinsing the filter basket and when I put the filter in it... I heard the "running water" sound again. It almost sounded as if there was water running on the "ground" AFTER I shut the water off.
I went back to the sink and turned it on again... heard it again a few seconds later... I then opened up the cabinet... no water but then saw that the pipe going to the wall was off. Great.
The way it is set up, it wasn't getting into the base of the cabinet because the wall is "open" some so if I wasn't listening or there was a lot of commotion, I may never have heard it for a while longer. We obviously use this sink daily, multiple times so I wonder how long it has been or is it just "something" was moved underneath that just happened to pull the pipe out and it's only been a day.
Whatever it is, it's fixed now BUT... it makes me wonder how long it would have taken a tenant to not only notice it but since it wasn't leaking and getting things wet under the sink "right away", how long they would have reported it to us.
Just a thought. Have a great day!
