I'm not positive, but I think an association meeting that was first place I met you several years ago.

To others, if we have met in person, where was the first place we met and approximately how many years ago?

It had to be about 2000-ish, when I was just getting going & introduced to TRIG (local investor's group) that sponsored some training with you.

In the extreme southeastern area of VA, in an area called Hampton Roads. May have been in Hampton, since that is where TRIG was meeting at the time.

Indianapolis Mr. LL convention. About 8 years ago, I think?

Last year at the convention.

I remember sitting there listening to you introduce yourself. I admit I was a little star struck.

When we first got to the hotel we saw a man and his wife walking by us. He mentioned how he liked my shirt. We dropped off our luggage and went to the hall. He was there again and said I knew it, you are here for the convention. That's when I met Brad and his lovely wife.

Seeing the others that I talked to online was amazing. Plus a made a couple friends that visit here on occasion. We chat offline a lot. Mostly passing on info or gripes. But always a good time.

2010 - Jacksonville Florida. NOTHING like what I was expecting. I think my jaw dropped the first time Jeffrey spoke and stayed dropped the entire time. I remember raising my hand several times "BUT BUT BUT" and he ignored me - and by the end I was a total convert.

The time has come.

I attended with D. Brink, my Mentor and close Friend.

For the record, and because I enjoy living under the radar,

I lurked within the MrLandlord Forum for a couple of years,

prior to chiming in around 2008.

I have not met anyone on this sight, and the mystery would

be lost if I did.

None of my Fellow LL/PM in Michigan have keyed in on me.

I am content with my Lot in Life, where I neither brag or

complain to much, about my successes or failures.

This is by far my longest post.

In closing,

I believe that Real Estate Investors, LL's and PM's

are the Heartbeat of America and always will be,

as a collective Team.

Maybe 2010?? In St. Louis, at the MRLL convention. Met several friends that week that I still stay in touch with today! I won't name people, but here are a few states they live in: Hawaii, California, Washington, Michigan, Arizona, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, NC, SC, and of course Virginia Beach!

You and this newsgroup have been the biggest kick to my LLing business. I started in 98 and quit the day job in 2014. Mostly thanks to what I learned right here and at the conventions.

I met Ernie that year and still use his locks exclusively.

Sorry I am late to the post, my friend. I haven't taken the tools out of my truck yet.

I wasn't aware that you were going to be in Nashville.

We first met in 2019 at the Convention in Cleavland Ohio. It was the first time that I had ever been to anything like this. I had no clue how to act or what to do. I only knew vaguely how to dress, because I asked the board here. What can I say, I don't get out much. It was a great pleasure to meet you and others there and learn from all of you. Everyone made me feel welcomed and part of the group. Not like my school days. I crawled out of my shell for a few days and had a good time. I thank you for putting up with me while I was there. I think the next time we met was at the Convention in Nashville TN. I hope to meet you again. I like your teaching style.

Jeffrey you came to a local landlord assn meeting in the Capital Region in NY. I think it was 2018? I bought the package deal and between being on memorial weekend and covid, I have not made it to a convention yet, if the offers still good I'd like to make that happen this year.

In person your famous "Would you like fries with that" presentation in Columbus Ohio?? Back when Mickey D's was still saying that. Very clever! Can't remember the year but Lou Brown was the headliner.

Maybe your next survey could be "How has Dot changed your life?"

A few years ago she POLITELY and TACTFULLY corrected me on something stupid I said. The next year she spent quality time with Wifey and me - what a CLASSY and WISE lady!

You two are the perfect team!

Met you in St. Louis at a Mr. LL Convention seems about 20 years ago. My wife didn't come as children small then.

I remember walking in to a room you were speaking and before I got set down I heard you make a statement that hit me.

WOW, I just paid for this convention with that one statement!

You stated 'Tenant payments will be applied to tenant's account at LL's discretion.'

The St. Louis Real Estate Investors Association had also scheduled their monthly meeting at the same hotel as your convention and you spoke at their meeting and I joined the STLREIA the same night as well.

I've learned so much from you and the great people you've had and the folks on this forum.

I haven't done as good a job as I'd like by implementing all the good ideas and procedures I've been exposed to by all you folks.

I maintain I do have the worlds largest room, 'room for improvement' of anyone I know.

With the input, support and encouragement from Mr. LL and every one here, I'm making my 'room' smaller one implemented idea at a time.

Louisville Apartment Assoc??- I drove to the next state in the nastiest road conditions - sleet and slush, and my TripTix took us around the entire city so we were late, paid for the dinner but there was no food left because we were so late.

BUT we heard your amazing presentation.

Year? If I remember your upcoming Convention was Las Vegas?

We never met. BUT you set me on the right course for owning properties.

As customer focused as I was in my banking and IT career, it took you to point out to view my tenants as traditional customers. I still ask myself why did I had a blind spot with viewing my relationships with my tenants.

It took you to set me straight.

I first saw you in Denver at Bill Bronchick's Colorado Association of Real Estate Investors about 20 years ago. The last time I saw you was about 4 years ago at the Triangle Real Estate Investors Association.

The year was maybe 2007 or 2008 I had just taken on 8 units and needed guidance. I ended up in Vegas at the most coolest event I had ever been to. I would wake up early and lurk around the meeting area just to get a couple words in with Jeffrey, while he was busy, he always took a few minutes to impart wisdom! I came home from that convention and decided what I wanted to be when I grow up and actually verbalized it.

We flew to New Orleans in 2012 to board Royal Caribbean Cruise ship, Voyager of the Seas and we had never cruised out of New Orleans. Jeffrey Dot and their son's are a wonderful family. We were so inspired after being uneducated landlords.

NOW we are educated & encourage everyone to learn and attend all Mr Landlord events. We attribute Mr Landlord to our many years of NO evictions by changing our systems and forms.

Every time we attend any Mr. Landlord Event we implement several idea. Lease changes, screening processes, adding Clear Now rent collection system. Delegate properly, manage well and balance family & business and live our dream life. ALL due to quality real estate land lording education from the Taylor Family sharing knowledge and seeking great speakers for our event(s)
