Typical application (by BRAD 20,000 [IN]) Posted on: Mar 12, 2024 10:20 PM
Message:

This app is so typical of what we are getting right now.

I believe the end of free pandemic money and rising inflation has the "Birds in the Mineshaft" falling off their perches.

This came in today...

"I have a question about the sycamore street property. Our source of income right now is doordashing. I am in the process of trying to get disability and my fiance is in the process of finding a job. We have the money to be able to move in. We have income whether it's from doordashing or a side job. We just had a baby and we are trying to get out on our own because we are living with his grandparents. Before I applied I wanted to see if that was okay or not. Thank you in advance. "

I replied "Thanks for your interest in GraysonProp.com The NICE Home People! (thanks DJ!) We are happy the review your application after you find steady W2 employment and get some time on the job. DoorDash is a great side hustle to your regular job."

it is tax return season, so that is helping with move in charges and the first month of rent...after the big screen purchase. --208.127.xxx.xxx

I get that story at least once a day when running an ad. Around here you have to be careful and wouldn't dare use that response for fear of a "discrimination on source of income" complaint --64.246.xxx.xxx

One of my longer term tenants lost her job due to family issues.

She started door dashing until she got another job. She made a good chunk of change doing that. Small car that sips gas helped too.

When my spouse decides to order something delivered I remind her to use a different last name so the tenant doesn't deliver it to us and find out where I live. --107.147.xx.xx

I thought everyone got an application? Changing strategy?

Anyway, I have a canned response that EVERYONE gets. I don't care if they are the CEO of a Fortune 500 company or an 18-year old with a push mower....

Hi this is Sid with (our company name). Thank you for responding to our rental property ad for (address). Good news, this address is currently available.

Everyone gets this, without fail, even the person who tells me "I just got evicted for the third time and I'm hoping to get on disability in a few months but I have cash in hand from my under the table job and oh by the way my fiance' and me have three pitbull ESAs...."

I can do Door Dash and have a baby, but I am disabled?

Humans should have kids when they have no money?

I think I've been down this road. --76.129.xxx.xx

I DID have someone making $1000/week doing DoorDash.

Another Dasher was making $80-100 a night ($25/hour) but a slight change in the app/program/algorithym instantly left them out in the cold with no dashing to do.

All self employed must submit copy of tax return from prior year(s) in order to verify income, along with copies of recent bank statements.

Didn't claim it on taxes? It didn't happen as far as we are concerned.

I had to submit my tax returns every time I financed a house or auto. Was self-employed since I was 28.
