Just finished looking at a house with a gas stove. We walked in and the whole house was full of gas. Thank goodness nothing kicked on or the house would have been gone. Come to find out the gas stove knobs for the top burners can be turned on before the ignitor clicks in (Frigidaire) so you can turn the gas on 3/4 way and no ignition but plenty of gas. The lady went to work not knowing the knob was cracked open.
When I get back to the office my MMan shows me a video, no lie, showing kids how to turn the gas on -- part way-- INTENTIONALLY!!!!
We live in one crazy world!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple winters ago someone in a city near me was trying to light a gas furnace and it blew up and took out the house and the houses on either side of it,i drove by a few days later and it was incredible the damage it did --72.231.xxx.xxx |

I accidentally turned the gas on when I started remodeling a rental a month ago. I was moving the gas stove back over and didn’t realize one of the knobs turned a smidge. The next day when I walked in, it smelled bad like gas. Didn’t know what happened. I called the gas company. Then before they arrived, I realized what was wrong. I couldn’t cancel them. But once I fixed the knob and opened a window the gas smell started going away. --173.26.xx.xxx |
