This is one from FB marketplace. This is in response to an apartment ad. He's answering a question on his pay. I find that the folks who are on the up and up have no problem just answering the questions directly. Those who are faking it, don't and want to run around the mulberry bush:
Applicant: Weekly depending upon commission I get payed about 600$
Me: Is that 600 gross or net?
Applicant: I get payed bi weekly. One check, is about 700$ and then the check with commission is like 1300$-2000$ depending on how I sell and that’s how much I end up with in my wallet.
It's still not clear to me how much he's getting paid, so I ask this:
Me: How much pay did your W-2 for 2018 show?
That one simple question opens the floodgates to a fail:
Applicant: Oh man I’d have to look at it right now. Also I spent 6 months out of last year on leave for disability. So that’s not a fair representation. Aside from any of this, what are we getting at here? Are you going to run a background check? Will I see the place? Why am I sharing all of this with you? I live with someone now who’s lease is ending so I’m trying to find a place soon. And I’ve inquired on like 25 places, you’re the only person to ask me any of this. I’m a responsible person, I work and have a great track record when it comes to working. 800$ isn’t a problem for me. I’ll sign a lease and I can have co signers as well who have immaculate credit. I’m not trying to sound like a jerk right now I apologize if I am. Not only do I have a full time job but I’m a photographer on the side and make money there too. I’m 24 years old. And this apartment is where again?

Although I cut and paste my pre-screening questions on FB or via text, this is taking too much time. I discovered that I can set up a google form on my rental FB page and that's what I'm going to do and just refer everyone there. I've decided I really don't need a web page as my FB page will serve my purposes.
