OT - H#ll has frozen over

So glad we live in warm, sunny Arizona... where we got over a foot of snow last night with more on the way. Just a dusting at my house, but just a few hundred feet higher it's really piling up.

All main roads are closed with hundreds of trucks stuck on I-40. Sheriff says, "shelter in place." Bwahahaha! Buncha stupid flatlanders can't drive in a little snow. Both our passes (4,000 ft) are closed unless you take local knowlege dirt roads.

Been 4 years since we had snow in town. Snowboarding tomorrow for sure! Google "flagstaff webcam."

Having lived in Colorado and New England, the sight of cars with snow on the roofs, hoods, etc. was kind of nostalgic. But unexpected in central Vegas!!

Vegas buildings tend to be underinsulated, and my office is a chilly 65 degrees inside. Makes typing difficult. Time to find my space heater!

LOL Mike, on days like this I miss not having a fireplace. We should have lunch sometime. I was in Vegas Saturday and had a flurry on Rainbow by the 215. We tried to get to Kingman for lunch today, but the road is still closed over Coyote Pass with about a foot where we turned back. The "back road" looked like a great way to get stuck, forever.

I'm pretty impressed with my truck. With just regular snow/mud street tires it blasted through 12-16 inches in 2wd. Didn't need 4wd at all. Others were sliding all over, must be the tires.

Bit (IN)- news is showing plently of snow still on the ground in Vegas, though I think it's mostly melted on the Strip. The higher parts of Vegas are nearly 3,000 ft so they get a lot more, maybe 6" plus.

Some homeless guy was sleeping in a dumpster last night to avoid the cold and got dumped into the trash truck! Luckily the driver saw and heard the guy. Talk about a rude awakening. --47.216.xx.xxx

We were in Flagstaff just a few months ago. Went to some bar where they said on the menu "$2.00 shots of schnapps every time the train goes by". Our Troop once forgot pans for cooking pancakes on one of our Polar Bear campouts. We cleaned a flat shovel and made them on there. Was one of the best Polar Bear experiences! The now grown-up Scouts still talk about it to this day! :)
