It could happen to you. Well, maybe not, but I just laughed until I cried. My poor 73 year old husband went to a rental today and was cleaning out a gutter near a power line going into a house so he was being very careful (he has a defibrillator so he cannot get shocked). Well, his belt came loose and his pants fell down around his ankles and then his underpants started to fall too! Oh my word, I told him too bad the handyman wasn't with him, he could have taken a picture and never have had to work another day in his life (blackmail)! But I guess if the handyman had been there, he'd been doing it.

It would have never come out but I asked him why he was changing his belt out and he showed me the holes that had popped loose/split and it wasn't a cheap belt it was a Carhartt .

Just thankful the tenant didn't come pulling up in the driveway! --71.219.xx.xxx

If I were your husband, I would have taken that secret to my grave if no one was around to see it.

Forget pulling up in the driveway, you'd better be thankful the tenant wasn't in the room looking outside her window at your husband while he was exposing himself. That's a quick way to be placed on a sexual predator list. --108.69.xxx.xxx

The way things are now. If it had of been a female tenant that pulled up.

He would have been charged with sexual harassment. LOL --73.152.xx.xxx

LOL - Thanks for that vision. :)

I read somewhere a guy died falling off the BOTTOM rung of a ladder! His foot slipped through the ladder, causing him to fall backward with his foot stuck in the rung. Hit his head on the concrete, caused a brain bleed and he died. --47.216.xx.xxx

I too appreciate the humor, but along the lines of what LTD said, a friend of our family lost her mid-70s husband who fell off a ladder while trimming a tree. Older bodies just don't handle injury and recovery like younger ones. Please consider keeping hubs on the ground where you can enjoy each other for a couple more decades (at least). Find some strapping young go-getter who needs pocket money to clean those gutters for $40. --173.20.xxx.xxx

I know this will invoke a bad comment or two-- but why in God's name is your 73 year old husband even on a ladder-- forget the defibrillator-- forget the power line--- is marijuana legal there and have you been smokin it?

THIS world is crazy!!!! 73???????????? and you let him? --99.103.xxx.xxx

Ladders and the elderly don't mix. My wife works in a hospital and has seen so many people, aged 50 and older, become paralyzed for life due to a ladder fall, and has seen many elderly die from the fall. If you're on blood thinner, don't even look at a ladder. You get an internal injury, you're dead. You'll bleed out for sure.

My wife asks me to change a lightbulb, then when I get the ladder, I get the speech too. She wants me to hire someone to climb up and change the bulb. I'll pull over and ask for directions long before I contract out a light bulb change. --108.69.xxx.xxx

A good friends Grandpa died after a fall from a ladder. Whole family recognized long time ago they were. NOT going to ever get him to give up maintaining the house. He was 95.

His young bride (only 93,) said she’d have rather had him doing those thing than sitting around getting old. She lived till 101. --70.92.xxx.xxx

Y’all are so funny!!

Jane, I have a story about that! Football game was on, satellite dish was covered in snow; we’d had a really heavy snowfall. Husband figured it would be easier to put the ladder on the driveway side, which he’d already cleared, and walk over the roof to the satellite dis. As he stepped from ladder to roof, the ladder slipped on the freshly cleared driveway. He landed on concrete, ladder landed on top of him!

Kids helped me lift him in the van, he thought ankle was busted. ER is close by, but he had to wait in line. Behind the two other guys who had just fallen off the roof trying to clear their satellite dishes! AND, another guy came in after my husband.

Amazingly, not one single broken bone out of the bunch. Just lots of bad sprains.

Nurses said, ‘You guys sure are a commercial for cable tv!’ --70.92.xxx.xxx
