OK, I'm BAAACK!
Thank you all for your support through this. It is appreciated more than I can express online.
We got home yesterday and I'm already feeling like a new person! I actually drove about an hour of the trip. My energy is returning fast. Rode in a fat cart at Walmart today for the first time. That's kinda fun! Except going over bumps, ouch!
The tumor was sucking everything out of me. I really thought losing 60 lbs with no effort on the ice cream and brownie diet was a new break through. As pleasant (and expensive) as the Arizona Inn was it was hard to leave. But we brought a sack of fresh oranges and grapefruit home, and stole the soap. So we can pretend we are still there a few more days. I know this isn't trip advisor, but if you find yourself in Tucson, stay there.
I got my hoses and drains out Friday. The Doc was really embarrassed, the nurse was COUGHING in the room and said she was getting over a cold. He brought me a mask. Not sick yet, fingers crossed. Then she didn't know how to operate the machinery. They had this giant white thing that sat over me and allowed us to see inside on a big led screen. He had to go find another Doc who knew how it worked. I suspect someone may be looking for work soon. That was the only glitch in an otherwise perfect experience.
Pathology came back clean. They got it all! It was Stage II high grade cancer, less than 1mm from breaching into the abdomen. The tumor was the size of my fist! A few more weeks and we might not be having this conversation. They also took all the lymph nodes, all negative. He wants me to have chemo just to be safe. It only takes one cell... I see the oncologist tomorrow and assume will start after Christmas for about 2-3 months. It'll be nice to not have to brush my long hair all the time...
When we get this behind us I'm going to throw one of my epic parties! A combo "beat cancer, welcome to social security and 62 b'day party." The best things about my parties (besides the friendships and booze) is when the neighbors call the cops on us, nobody comes - because half the dept will already be there swinging from the rafters! Bwahaha!
This'll be the last update on this. Looks like it's going to be a very Merry Christmas at our house. And I hope yours will be even better!

A lady in cancer treatment was losing her hair. Dr. told her to adjust her attitude.
One morning she looked in the mirror and discovered she only had three strands of hair on her head. She smiled and said “I think I will braid my hair today” and she had a wonderful day.
The next day she looked in the mirror and noticed she only had two strands of hair. She smiled and said “I think I will part my hair today”. She did and had a wonderful day.

My uterine tumor was a mm or less from getting through to my abdomen also. I was stage I and grade III. One night a spirit spoke to me, male voice, and said "You have uterine cancer, get to a gynecologist". I did but it was hard to convince him since I had no symptoms so I had to bleed first then eh did a D and C and only then could I get the whole mess removed. It had not spread anywhere but I had radiation instead. They wanted to do more radiation but I said no as it would have ruined the organs around there like my bladder. The two cancer doctors were evil. Long story and not for here. I am glad you are OK. Likely it won't appear anywhere else. Do you like broccoli? Something in it fights cancer so hopefully you can make some broccoli soup of eat some. Campbells makes a delicious cream of broccoli. Use chicken broth instead of water. I eat some form of broccoli every day and no return of cancer or any other cancer. --73.248.xxx.xxx |
