How are the condos set up near Denver generally? My cousin lives in Denver and wants to sell what she calls a "bungalow". Recently I posted that CA residents are moving in and paying over half a million for something near her. She is 75 and is a polio victim and has led a courageous life dealing with the damage. She also lives with Santa Claus. He is one of the folks from the Association of Real Bearded Santas. She got a realtor but if anyone out in CO can give me real information on where to go what to avoid and how much money, I would like to advise her. They need first floor I guess, nice area near stores, medical care etc. She has a teacher's pension and he is well, he is Santa all year and dresses in green jeans and red checkered shirts in summer and startles kids by giving them candy canes in restaurants when they recognize him off duty. --73.248.xxx.xxx

I don't know Denver, but I do know that when you don't know a good realtor that you should interview a minimum of three.

Dont neessarily go for the one who promises the highest price, but hear all their plan for how to sell and have them explain their comps.

Pick the one who seems the most organized who has the best grasp of the market, not necessarily the most charming. --174.216.x.xxx

I own a rental (eventual retirement house for me) in Colorado Springs, just down the road from Denver. While Denver-area real estate prices aren't at California levels, they are mile-high, just like the Mile High City.

The bad news is that she will be paying a lot for a condo. The good news is, she has a house to sell in the same market. So that should balance out nicely for her.

The Denver metro area is gigantic, so advice on this board about good/bad areas etc. will be insufficient. Her best bet is a good agent who wants to work hard to get her sale listing and also put her in a good condo. --68.156.xx.xx

Thank you Steve. I emailed her last night and she wants to stay on the northwest side and all the condos are on the south side. I did tell her about interviewing more than one realtor. --73.248.xxx.xxx
