Not sure if they have those in the other states but here in MA we have no fault evictions. That is where a tenant gets evicted and it is not their fault they did not pay the rent and leave. --108.20.xxx.xxx

Bet, only because here in MA we have such mean LLs who expect to get paid for the use of their property. --71.174.xx.xx

Here in GA the judge makes an announcement prior to calling the calendar.

"There is no reason, in the state of GA, not to pay rent". Don't come up here (to podium) using any excuses. People still go up there with excuses-- most start with the 1st grade excuse--MY DOG ATE MY HOME WORK!!!!!

It worked in first grade-- why can't it work in court? --99.103.xxx.xxx

The local eviction judge here gives her speech, tells tenants if they want to contest eviction they must file an answer with the court and she's be happy to pass the case so they can file with the clerk, and, BTW there's a $92 filing fee...most don't bother filing --67.143.xxx.xx

bet,

So what difference does it make?

Isn’t eviction eviction?

When I visited Boston and learned of the courage of the Sons of Liberty and names now famous, I’m blown away with MA’s intrusive laws.

MYOB - dog ate my homework... I use that during the lease signing. I tell them I was a teacher and didn’t want to hear the dog ate their homework and don’t want to hear “I didn’t have a stamp” so I provide self addressed envelopes so rent will be on time (soon will be moving to electronic payment option). --24.61.xxx.xx
