What are your charges, policies, and proceedures if an apartment has been burglarized. Door kicked in or window broken, for instance, or other damage to the structure.

How does a tenant's renters' insurance play into such a situation, if at all, in regards to the building/ premises? --162.238.xx.xxx

As Frank said. The last police report I got the dear bored cop spent the night chasing down the perpetrator who just happened to be my tenant. He documented my tenants admission on the police report. It was a domestic dispute and she locked him out.

Another time it was a marriage breakup and the husband got locked out.

Then came a through the window breakin for music equipment and the wannabe burgler cut himself and left a trail of blood that led the cops to his house where he was drunk, bleeding, and passed out on his couch.Thank goodness thieves are usually stupid. We paid the window and did repair ourselves and tenant did not lose anything.

4th case in 18 years was a relationship breakup and the boyfriend moved out but then broke in later.

Look close to your tenant as they frequently know who did the deed. Police report is mandatory. --216.23.xxx.xx

Adele,I'd call my I surance company and have them pursue the tenanrts carrier.you'll probably have to pay most of it out of your own pocket, you know how insurance companies can wheedle their way out of things.just my everyday observation.........charlie................. --32.214.xxx.xx

Call your renter insurance company-- you know the one from the list of insurers we suggested you purchase from.

We had a door kicked in and wouldn't repair-- told tenant we don't repair damages from boyfriends or your friends you have picked. --99.103.xxx.xxx
