Well it has happened once again. Less than wonderful tenant leaves. Police contact me looking for tenant/ex-tenant. Fortunately I have the new address and I am more than happy to provide the info. Glad i could help!

I told him I have an application full of info, current address, employer address etc.I sent it to them and told them I was happy to help --72.231.xxx.xxx

Long story short......years ago a tenant's child ages out of juvenile hall. He comes to live there because tenant lied and said he was coming from his father's for the summer.

He starts stealing cars around the neighborhood. I inform the police. Nothing. Three days after the date I asked tenants to move, I am cleaning up to re-rent and police show up asking where he is. Sorry, I have no forwarding address to provide.

Four months later I'm reading the paper and the tenant's child and a 16 year old "helper" are arrested for carjacking a tractor trailer at a large grocery store warehouse. --162.238.xx.xxx

I am still amazed--as I think back on it! A former Sec-8 tenant (that I started an eviction on for writing a bad check--then skipping out) was stupid enough to put me down as a reference on an application for a gov job. I was interviewed by phone to tell them if I thought she was a responsible person. I told them she is a Sec-8 tenant who didn't pay rent and passed bad checks! I still have a check she gave from a CLOSED acct. She was scamming the Sec-8 program, broke her rental contract, deceitfully and knowingly passed me a bad check, and still owes me money. They said, "OH, that tells us a lot." I was glad I could help. --108.87.xx.xxx
