Hello,

Here is a new development, I know you guys don't believe my unluck, I was shock, why me.

AllState sold me a landlord policy with one million liability in it.

However, Not only I did not ask for it, but also AllState does not have this product , the highest liability is $500,000.

I know I do not need a million for liability in a landlord policy, and never asked for one, two quotes I received were for $300,000. I paid in full via credit card. Never received any notice from Allstate that my policy was denied. (of course, it denied, because Allstate does not sell one million liability in a landlord policy.)

I did not know my policy was denied until last Friday, I wanted to make sure my name was on the policy, the agent said I had no policy in place. I was stun, luckily, my property had has no problems since.

My question is what do you or insurance business do when a company sold you a product, on this case, Allstate, that is not in their product line, but they did and charged you in full and of course, got denied.

I asked for reinstate, reissue and a full refund. But, the executive assistants from Allstate said no. Because right now, it considers the lapse for six months, I have to additional $400 for a new policy. I have not intention to pay for someone's error.

What will you do for this case? At least, now I know that I better check everything, do not trust any one.

Thanks.

The only thing I can tell you is that insurance companies seem to hire incompetent people. Added to that, the post office isn't working as well as it should.

I've had two policies this year, with two different companies, that I never received bills at renewal time.

You must keep track of when insurance is due, and you must keep track of your poicies and double check that payments were received and properly applied.

You simply can not rely upon other people to do their jobs correctly. You must double check. --174.216.xx.xxx

Yes, I learned my lesson. I thought I paid in full. I did not even bother if I received the policy. I only received two quotes for $300,000 liability. Never asked for one million, and never need one million for liability.

Turned out Allstate does not sell one million liability neither, but the salesperson turned it in one million for suicidal denied. When it happened, they failed to contact me via phone, via email, via text, they said they sent a letter, I said I never received a letter from them.

The salesperson sent me an email last February, and asked me if I have time to chat, I replied what do you want to chat about.

If the person said because my policy was denied, I will definitely will "chat". but, I did not get any notification from AllState.

So, what would you do, if you are in my situation.

You mean you were not in good hands?

First step, report to the State Ins Commish. Charlie got it right this time.

Are you saying that you got cancelled but Allstate refused to give you a refund? - can you spell 'Small Claim Court'? --99.59.x.xxx

Step 1: Find a new insurance company.

Step 2: File a complaint with the state office that oversees insurance companies. This will likely force their hand to refund any monies owed, etc.

If they screwed up this bad and won't own it, vote quickly with your wallet. --173.24.xxx.xxx

Here's one for the books:

I have over a dozen policies with Farmers Insurance Company/Group. I also had my personal house and vehicles insured with them for the discount. I also purchased an umbrella policy from them for the stuff I have insured with them.

So one day my rates went up 50% on my house. I had just purchased it a year before and added a 200 square foot room. My rates could have gone up maybe 5-10%, but not 50%.

So I transferred my home coverage to another company and I changed my vehicle insurance to 21st Century Insurance.

I then received a letter in the mail, Farmers is cancelling my Umbrella Policy with them because I must insure 1 home and 1 vehicle with a Farmers Family Policy in order to keep my umbrella policy with them.

FARMERS AGENTS AND COMPUTERS DID NOT KNOW THAT FARMERS HAD PURCHASED 50% THEN 100% OF 21ST CENTURY INSURANCE COMPANY 3 AND 4 YEARS EARLIER. I had to convince underwriters that I had 5 homes insured with them and a vehicle with 21st Century -- a Farmers Family owned company. Farmers owned over 30 insurance companies at that time.

Are you sure it wasn't a scammer masquerading as Allstate? Was it with a agent you already knew and worked with? --74.130.xxx.xxx

Yeah, this makes no sense. Like Bit said -- are you SURE? Were you dealing with your normal agent?

It makes no sense that they "sold you a policy that they do not offer."

And you thought it went through and go ZERO notices that it hadn't?

AND they kept the money!??

Again, something isn't making any sense here.
