Can you use Killz latex over semi gloss or do you have to scuff it? Can't find a straight answer yet on Google. Thanks.

I would scuff it, or use a deglosser first. With the shiny surface a bonding primer would be better. --108.44.xx.xxx |

I prefer to use BIN 1-2-3. I get better results. --99.59.x.xxx |

Steven,
Bonding primer. When in doubt the answer is bonding primer, THEN color/stain blocking.
Paint on!

Bonding primer instead of Kilz.
Or deglosser then Kilz. --73.230.xx.xx |

Why don't you simply use what you can use over semi gloss? Ask at the paint store. --73.178.xxx.xx |

As usual Ally, you are completely unhelpful. --76.117.xxx.xx |

Thank you Steven. Sorry you can't read labels. Using more of the same is the common sense way to go without creating extra work. --73.178.xxx.xx |

I have had poor results using killz latex. Glidden Gripper has worked well as a latex primer, and the bonding primers seem to work well but don't provide as much color blocking.
As always prep is key. Clean with TSP before priming. --137.119.xxx.xxx |

Don't scuff the semi unless you know for sure that it is not lead based. --69.244.xx.xx |
