Landlord Accuses R. Kelly of Taking Stove, Causing $203,400 in 'Extensive Damage' to Rentals

An Atlanta-area property company is suing Grammy-winning R&B artist R. Kelly for $203,400 over "extensive damage" to two homes he rented.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports SB Property Management Global, LLC., based in East Point, filed the lawsuit Wednesday. It says one home suffered damage to electric wiring, flooring, and windows and was missing items including a stove, furniture, ceiling fans and 22 light fixtures.
These are the same homes an associate of Kelly’s was accused of robbing in 2017. Alfonso L. Walker was charged with theft and burglary. Kelly and the company settled in April 2018 for $170,000, agreeing Kelly would be released from damage claims. But the lawsuit says Kelly has only paid $20,000.
The newspaper couldn’t reach any involved parties for comment.

I have heard of R&B artists making $10-$50 million recording deals who like to "make it rain" $100,000 for one night at the club. With those kinds of numbers, $200K in damages is like you or me having lunch at McDonalds and ordering off the dollar menu
Interesting, though...according to the InterWebz R Kelly's net worth recently dropped from $150 M to just $1 M. Maybe he should attempt to live like a normal person for awhile, although the image is part of the deal so....who knows? --173.19.x.xxx |

It was hardly Joe Louis's fault, seems everyone around him usurped funds and lied to him. Including his managers, his accountants and others. He was told that they were handling all his finances including investments and taxes. Near the end of his career he found that they did not pay his taxes and there was no programs then for working out deals with the IRS.
He had to keep fighting longer than he wanted to and the tax people took most of his money for those fights.
He spent the rest of his life as a greeter at Las Vegas casinos. Had to pay part of his paycheck to the the tax people the rest of his life. --66.30.xx.xxx |
