My first time using Zillow, I received an e-mail telling me the status of my ad had changed. They declined it on Zillow, but it is still showing on Trulia & Hotpads. I am so new to using this, I went back & researched some older comments on Zillow from this site.

I am wondering if it was because I did not click onto the application function? I asked that the specific location of house be hidden.

Any help will be appreciated. I need a better class of applicant than I am getting with local sign, & Craig's List. I did not know that our local paper had gone up so much on rates. $75.00 for one insertion. --71.219.xx.xx

I've had Zillow decline a couple of my ads before. Contact their support desk via email, and they'll help you fix it. My ads were up in less than 48 hours.

I appreciate the fact that they try to police it better than Craigslist. --173.19.x.xxx

In my market, I get a lot of leads from Zillow. The majority of my renters come from Facebook Marketplace however.

If you do Marketplace, be prepared for a ton of Messenger responses. Tons of tire kickers, but there are serious folks there too. Have a canned response ready to go that you can copy and paste back to them. --98.175.xxx.xxx

I posted recently about my listing getting buried on zillow. I tried to edit it and modify the date as was suggested here, but that didn't move the needle. I think it is almost impossible to have a listing that does not have an address however.

The zillow application feature is useless. There is no harm in allowing it to be active. Screen normally. --24.194.xx.xx

I just can't deal with Facebook Marketplace. I've tried it once or twice and I felt like I fell in a shark tank. It is such a mad flurry & all desperate.

I'm just tired. We've had back to back turnovers, four total and there is just not that much of a good market here. I need to just take a deep breath & wait. Good things come to those that wait, right? --71.219.xx.xx

Just filled a vacancy a few weeks ago. Only listed on Zillow. I got about 9 or 10 replies and had it rented within a days. Never had to put up a sign in the yard. I get lots of responses from signs but few qualify.

It really depends on your local market.

Normally I never have problems getting a well qualified tenant.... a lot of times within the first day or two I have one but this year it's slow going and the tenant pool that is usually filled with high quality people has filled with mostly losers.

I used zillow for the first time a couple months ago. Normally only use Craigslist. This time used both. Zillow has a lot of losers who have nothing better to do than ask for a showing by email then when you answer they disappear. Craigslist is slow going but more qualified people and they seem more serious.

That said , after taking about 11 apps from losers on zillow and a lot of wasted time answering people with dissapearIng acts I finally got an excellent couple and they did come from Zillow. Facebook I never have tried and never will. --73.166.xxx.xxx

Yes Pat, just be patient. Zillow, CL and a small local pennysaver is where I always advertise. Any new fangled method that I've tried has always ended going by the wayside. --50.32.xxx.xxx
